Can anyone help me, apprentice seeking advice. If i add a new ring main to a ccu that has rcd protection but main bonding to gas and water is in 6mm will i need to upgrade this to?

You need table 4.1 in the On-Site Guide, also the type of earthing system.

"For existing installations electricians should satisfy themselves as to the suitability of the earthing arrangement"

basically, if your Zsreading are within limits, there is no requirement to upgrade the bonding. having said that, it needs to be coded on your EIC as code 4.

What have your Zs readings got to do with bonding?

And how do you 'code' something on an EIC?

sorry, IQ, had a bad daY, got confused. ( not difficult) was thinking PIR. meant that as long as his work is compliant, no need to upgrade bonding as long as it's adequate.

been working on a farm, installing, dodging flying potatoes as they are harvesting. still, got some good chippers out of it.

thanks guys, so I would be liable then for the new circuit and bonding upgrade even though i never installed board just new circuit
