hi guys
yet another head scratcher i am doing a board change and have 3 cables for a ring main LIVE LIVE 0.45 N+N 0.45 CPC 0.68
other cable also reads on the end to end 0.12 0.15 and 0.23 cpc
any ideas as to what this could be expected that another circuit had been doubled up in fuse however all three cables seem to be part of same ring main.

Not enough info mate

You have an interconnection of some description, are all three pair of indentical appearance ? Sometimes you get a older or newer looking one, start as you would with a good ring, end to ends then do a figure of eight test on the sockets see if one pair give you equal readings, record the readings as you go or your get lost .

Look at the general board install, if most of the cables all look of a similar installation date, and one sticks out like a sore thumb...well...that's a starter for ten, there is only one figure of eight test for ring mains...it's in the OSG as well as GN3

Is the resistance between cables 1 and 2 (the higher resistance values of the ring final circuit) to the 3rd cable the same. it sounds like you have a ring then from one socket/spur and extra cable has been returned to the board.
