Like him or loath him,he had what is rarely found amongst today's sport stars (charisma/character)he remained aware of his roots and was a very good champion

My mate was telling me this last night. Apparently he was once offered to play against Eric, but he got nervous and chickened out

Another fella stepped in and got destroyed, it was a casual meet and greet event. He had a very good word for him, very approachable and as humble as the next, up for a bit of banter etc.

I see Ray Wilkins died this week too, he was only 61

Legend in his day unbeatable. I still have a set of his branded tungsten 21 gramme darts mass produced in the 80's and I thought they were crap but looking back I think it was the person throwing them that was crap.
