What a loss to the world ................... and a demonstration that disability doesn't have to stand in the way of work and a career.

Successive Governments should hang their heads in shame - its OK to reward Civil Servants with gongs for doing their jobs, yet people like Stephen get nothing ....................

Yes, an extremely intelligent guy who contributed much to the world of science and cosmology. I own and have read all of his books and enjoyed listening to his talks on space and the universe. Considering he was diagnosed to likely lose his life at much younger age, reaching 76 was a major feat in its own right. This is a testament to his determination and tenacity.

When this comes from a man who was told he had two years to live 55 years ago it takes on a much more profound meaning for me that at first read.

Watched a program about him where he refused to have his voice changed to a more natural voice as he liked his original one.

Loved his books, though TBH, i still struggle with the concepts. Amazed he has lived only 4 years shy of the Bulls eye chap Jim Bowen.
