I have an old KTS 1620, is this ok to use these days under 17th edition?

I see alot of new meters say 17TH EDITION!!! all over them so I'm trying to work out if its still any good.

Thanks in advance! :)

TyBrent,
I understand the only change from 16th Edition to 17th Edition test equipment is the requirement to confirm phase rotation on 3 phase installations. This is what I believe to be described as a '17th Edition tester' when it is fitted with a phase rotation facility.

Therefore if your meter is compliant with GS38 and has a valid calibration certificate it is OK to use.

Incorrect there is no requirement to be able to test phase rotation. As long as your meter can carry out all the tests described in part 6 then it is 17th compliant.

Verification of phase sequence is not the same as phase rotation.

no problem using the KTS1620, i only stopped using mine recently because i broke it. It does everything you need to test domestic to 17th edition.

Cheers.................Howard
