HI had to tackle a wet room with a Robus lighting .Now robus lighting are good but what you dont know is that the component that gives the start up.In the electronic ballist has only a life span of 1000 hrs only. After that the fitment is scrap much to my customers peril shame because Robus have a 2 year warranty.

This is a common problem with cheap 2D light fittings. They use autotransformer ballasts instead of H/F electronic or switch start ballasts. This means the lamps burn out quicker and the ballast usually fails within 6 - 24 months of installation.

I usually swap the ballast out when they fail for a Tridonic H/F Ballast. Lamps then last their rated life, and the ballast goes on for ever and a day. (cost about £30).

Another easy fix is to replace the ballast with a 28w magnetic choke, and change the lamp holder for a 2 pin. No starter required that way, total cost of repair including lamp about £10.
