Good morning ,

I have been asked to fit a mimic up/down button outside a loading bay dock leveller so that the exterior door can be opened from the outside but the internal door must remain closed at the same time- an airlock situation.

Inside the airlock is a control panel that will operate the external shutter, internal shutter and dock leveller , there is also an up/down remotley for the internal shutter. The internal shutter also has an up/down on the inside of the building.

One door cannot open while the other door is open whichever side you are on.

Other than get a specialist door contractor in can anyone advise or post a drawing?

Thanks

If im reading this corectly you say theres already a up/down control within the area? cant you see what type of switching contact they are using either N/O or N/C and if say one or both controls are N/O then just parallel off to your own N/O buttons. If they are N/C type buttons then break at the original switches in the area and run in series to your own N/C buttons.. hope that makes sence...

This makes the asumption that the controls in the inside area wont allow both doors to open if they do then you will need to find the limit switch on the inside door and run that through as well..and that may req you to install contactors or relays, thats gona get difficult to explain.. and not knowing the complete situation its all guess work :)

First you must be check out all the place and wiring of your place where you install this roller shutter and take all the size of the place and then you must be check out the size of your roller shutter and install then you can wired your roller shutter where you want to install it.
after a few pints, i might be able to understand whet the hell you're on about.

had a similar problem last year was head scratching for a while and the i googled the controller and it gave me a selection of wiring diagrams hey presto got it working worth a try

`fit a second door contact on each door which open circiuts the controls to the other door, so unless the opposing door is fully closed the other controls wont work, you may need to build a little control panel to allow for key over-ride and to reduce voltage for the control circuits, it can be done simply like this or if they want a more complex operating function then a plc can be programmed up to control operations.

Also if the doors are wired to a common source and isolating shuts control ofboth doors then it may be possible to use the existing closed door limits to allow feed to opposing door but this again depends on quite a few variables, a knowledge of the door system in is also needed for better advice ... i.e. manual up and down with deadman's closing or automatic/one touch with light curtain or sensor for safety when closing.
