Hi, the last 100kW install we did went through roo-fit and took nearly 4 months to get completed.
Just wondered if it's possible to install 50kW and register through MCS then in a short space of time do a 50kW extension through MCS again. And the tariff would be better also would it not?

Yes, it is possible. But:

is there planning permission for a single 100kWp system?
is there a grid connection agreement for a single 100kWp system?

The existence of either of these would suggest an attempt to game the FiTs scheme and could lead to the customer losing all payments if the system was the subject of an audit.

Would there be a single shared meter?

You would have to install a second meter when the first 50kWp got to the end of its 20 year term in order for the second system to continue to be eligible for FiTs (maybe only for a few days/weeks).

Of course your customer may have wanted 100kWp originally and then decided that, due to changed circumstances, that they could only afford 50kWp now and then another 50kWp at a later date. Nothing wrong with that as long as you have it in writing from them. But I would expect a month or two gap in between at the very least.

I got one that lasted 6months you got away lightly

I might be missing something, but wouldn't the 2nd 50kWp system have to be done via roofit anyway?
