room stat

hi all have been ask to install a room stat as there is not no at the min there is a timer that does heating and water have been told its not a combi was thinking of taking the switch line out of thr timer for the heating and going from the timer to room stat as gussing there must be a stat on boiler any idears would help

Remember to run a 4 core cable to the stat ie L-SW-N-E yes a neutral because if you dont you will waste 8% of your fuel bill

Sorry oldtimer, am not picking, but why?

If you check the stat it has 4 connections as I said Live -Switchwire-Neutral - Earth the reason for this is that the stat has an anticipator or accelerator resistor fitted so when the stat calls for heat this also connects the resitor this inturn heats up and makes the stat switching finer if you dont connect a neutral then the stats control is more erratic thus causing more energy to be wasted as it under and over shoots it setpoint .

Not all cats have tails but most do, I too find it find it strange that this system relies on the boiler stat alone, have you had a good look round? have the radiators been fitted with rad stats? yes you will need 4 core, good luck.
