UK Rotary isolators vs ordinary isolators?

Why are rotary isolators used on solar and heat pump installations rather than other IP rated isolators?

what difference does it make? either /or.
I see a lot of rotary DC isolators on solar depends on brand I guess, maybe it's easier to make more arc resistant?

Rotary tend to have locking off points that only need a padlock.
If you’re working at an inverter, say, you don’t want someone else turning on the juice from either end.

High voltage DC isolators are normally rotary in my experience enabling a simple remote operation via a spring for fast contact open/close independent of the operating knob speed, ie to avoid slow make/break burning contacts.
