You have to get to the stage where by you ask yourself, "is this worth it?"

currently my answer is NO. The damage to the renewable industry called PV is done and in my opinion irreversibly so as well. We have lost faith with the client because of the SUDDEN change, something that will take many years to build back. Whats stopping them from doing it again I've been asked. We get criticised for asking for to much dosh up front, we have our one man bands QMS scrutinised by people who have not a clue about business and want us to have a system in place to tell ME that I should not fit a damaged item to a roof, or I should have a meeting with MYSELF every three months, It's not enough to have an index showing 18 pages I need to show page 1 of 18, I need to prove this is the newest version, I don't give my forms a number to identify them (no I give them a F-ing NAME!) etc. We have DNO's who's only objective is to stand in the way of work or charge £18,000 to install a three phase supply as the application form stated for PV on it! Suppliers who loose more bloody FITs contracts then England has world cups (And that's likely to get worse!) Supplier's who's accountancy systems even NASA would struggle to understand and when they do add up there wrong! Conforming bodies who's only aim is to lift my wallet out of my pocket at any given opportunity (Oh yes on that note.....MR NICEIC, FOR THE LAST TIME, WHERE ARE OUR DC COMMISSIONING CERTIFICATES YOU PROMISED IN 2010?) and then when the crunch comes sit quietly in the back ground not making a sound (where's our support you bunch of spineless gits?) MCS introduce a £15 charge for ME to do MY notification MYSELF online using MY computer on MY electric in MY time........(I do hope I can get a refund back to my paypal account for the notifications I now will not do (Ha don't even get a discount for buying more CREDIT's at one time)

I tell you, as you might see it's not been a good day. I could go on but I have my friend Jack next to me with a little ice to boot so I'd better not run on or the language will be to much to moderate!

Take it one day at a time. flood lights on the scaffold to get a job finished is a joke but we will do it. Come four weeks time or sooner I will be hanging up my PV hat for a time until either one of two things happen. The industry is revived or something said on Monday is changed either way my heart for renewable's is sagging. I pity our children.............Oh is that another polar bear I hear slipping of an iceberg?

I feel for you guys. It must be tough and worrying.

My installer called me today and I was ready to hear the "sorry but Enecsys have screwed us" line. Quite the contrary: he said that the installs of the micro inverters were going ahead of schedule (thank god I agreed to have the panels installed ahead of time!) and could they come tomorrow rather than next Tuesday? I almost bit his hand off - that bit more contingency and me slightly ahead of the wave. I paid the balance by BACS this evening and expect to get my FIT application in at some point tomorrow. He gets his money, I get my receipt and a certificate and my Sanyo sponsored roof will no longer be driving an open circuit. All in all, not a bad day for me today.

I asked the installer how he feels about the current situation. His viewpoint is that it wont be that bad a thing at the end of the day - the cowboys will be gone and the people who are serious will be left.

Interestingly, I heard from my parents today that in Torquay the social housing contracts which were fitting solar will be no more - the FIT isn't worth it.

With the weather forecast set to p&ss down all weekend I think I should have invested in hydro and not solar... but there we go.

I think someone must have lobotomised me in my sleep. I'm actually feeling quite upbeat and positive about it all. Supplier's keeping remaining stock of REC245's back for us in case we need them, managed to source inverters we needed, exceeded our credit limit with wholesaler big time, but they don't seem to mind. Have a few plans for continuing with PV after 12/12 and think we can make it work.

However, I may turn out to be the biggest pillock I've ever met. Time will tell....

I was able to get my local MP to raise the concerns of the PV industry this morning in parliament - as a result I have been contacted By some of the media trying to ask how bad this is for us. If any you guys have some stats, I meet my mp tomorrow to try and get here a better understanding of the plight of the humble installers.

I don't think all is lost, we have little stock in the Uk channel and some are experiencing poor service from those who where our fair weather friends! Any body who wants me to pass your comments on, please send to [email protected].

I have given some media organisations this web site as a reference to show our anger and dispair at these proposals.

I am pleased that my local MP has taken the challenge - we need to be heard or Uk solar installers will be closed 12/11.

posh system PROB the last of the sanyo (well done) a client who knows what he wants !good kit! willing to pay for it ! installers wins!client wins!:)

Not a bad day today, max out on the installations now, all kit ordered and coming because of good working relationship and running of our accounts, the only thing wrong today was wired a 12 panel string when it should have been 2 strings of 6 dohhh, and turned away work! I never thought I would say that.

What the hell guys?

Just taken a cusory glance at this thread, and it appears some believe there is a future - NO IT HAS GONE........

I've done all the lobbying blah blah. It will not make the slightest iota of difference. This industry is DEAD from April. Please stop believing otherwise and beating a dead drum.

Unless there is divine intervention I will be bidding fairwell to yee all.

3 left to to do then au revoir

If you really want to feel involved - give your MP **** -give Cameron **** but do not roll over and take it up the a**

Come on, where's your bottle?........? Have a last go - GOOD GO - at your local -----

Shall I add to it and say there's a new MCS0001 out now which we have to work by form the 1st December? Would you mind sending me the link to the page where it shows the new MCS0001 please.

As far as I'm concerned what gets done gets done, What doesn't doesn't. I have a very horrible feeling that they might relent around the 6th or 7th December and extend the deadline meaning we would of killed ourselves getting as much in as we can and now don't have the energy to do any more. Government will never back down but they will put a spin on it to make it look like it's what they meant all along. Don't know why I just have a feeling!

I too am also already stressed to the max. The situation is so difficult I feel like I am going round in circles.

I may too have to start trying to ask a few customers to pay upfront as I too am also struggling for cashflow.

trouble is with these city types, they have never done a proper days work in thier entire life, the man is a ----er.

Need some Schuco 160 rail or 130. Anyone know suppliers with stock!!!!?

Found a SMA4000tl at a wholesalers, grabbed it right away. 2 installs commissioned.

Good luck tomorrow guys . Its 2.45am I've just finished the paperwork so far I feel battered these past 6 days what with writing to all and sundry before the deadline then coping with the workload since, Clients still phoning for new jobs :willy_nilly:and still fretting about suppliers, thankfully some are real stars. Just to add some light to the tunnel, burning of the guy tomorrow pin faces of these mugs to it and have a cold beer ;-) http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02040/bookerhuhne_2040756c.jpg & Gregory Barker: Photos

Okay, today was a even worse day.

Our distributors are both incompetent and unethical. If I could have gotten my hands on the cheeky ******** on the other end of the phone then I would have happily caved his skull in. They have let me down massively and they simply couldn't care less.

Running a business in this industry at the present time is like trying to manage a natural disaster.

I am seriously demoralised.

Sorry to hear that Biggs. I had a better day I have managed to source 90% of my original clients orders even sent a friend round to one supplier in person to crack some skulls. What are you short on and what do you need maybe I can help somehow even if it's just words. PM me. I'll be off until about 8 ish but will get back to you then.
