Hi,

A customer requires a switch cable for an outside light (attached to an outbuilding) to be run to their kitchen to enable the light to be switched from there.

Just wondering the best method of running the wire bearing in mind cost, regs and best practical solution.

I guess a catenary wire system would do (but how about UV protection for the gray TFE?).

There is also a sturdy fence which the cable could be clipped to, but I would be concerned about some protection for the cable, e.g. conduit or similar?

Underground is an option?

What is best practice?

Regards

Kev

Best practice would be to use a method that won't allow the cable to become damaged.

Personally i hate running athing other than SWA or conduit. Although lately i've used hituf but this was clipped about 3 meters high around a house.

Is TFE the same as twin and earth?
