Can you help please, I want to ensure that lighting circuit being installed is going to be safe in terms of cable run placement and interfloor insulation.
The cables typically will run through the centr of the floor joists etc whichn are 22omm deep , typically by drilling through the centre of the joist, now here is the problem the space between the ceiling and floorboards is to be completely filled with knauf mineral acoustic/thermal insulation.
So effectively the cable will be in the middle of 200mm of insulation
Does the cable used have to be 2.5mm to account for the lack of heat loss capability?
or Does this mean the 1.5mm cable should be put in pvc ducting ?
any advice please thanks

It may do, but you also need to look at what load you will be pulling, if you arent pulling any load then there is no heat generated.
