I have a rewire to start pretty soon in an upstairs maisonette, which has the full 270mm of fibre glass.

The lighting will be fine, 1.5mm T and E, B6.

However I have two ring finals, and a radial for a cooker circuit to install.

I am considering using 2-4 inch tray around the perimeter of the loft, either secured on battons, or on the roof rafters, around the eves.

Does anyone have any better options, or better still, some pictures of how they have got around this problem??

Many thanks for your replies.

That's as good a solution as anyone else can give you, ...so go with it!!

commendable if not overkill idea, clipping above the insulation would suffice or nailing lats and clipping to them, most jobs you see cables are just ran across top of insulation, either method you choose will do, the main point being the additional time/ expense to complete.

Thanks for your replies.

I thought about clipping to gravel boards (or similar) in the eaves, but I had visions of laying on my chest like a gymnast hammering clips and watching them ping across the loft!!

Tray is only about ÂŁ10 a length, and could be installed fairly quickly I imagine.
