Hi my learned friends.
Have a 3 phase+N instalation supplyed from DNO's 400A cut out.
Tri rated 185mm taken from there into a 600A isolator then off to a change over contactor (gen backup) in 185mm 4 core SWA. with out going into details of distance run and the full install infomation.(not fully informed myself yet)
I wonder if anyone could give any ideas to why the tri rated and swa seems to be running "over" warm!! Loading is Phase 1= 200Amp, Phase 2=210Amp, phase 3=230 Amp. and N= 70Amp.
well under the rateing of the cables.. Any Idea? Note I havnt been to site myself but have ran out of sencible ideas to answer the question..

Thanks
Ed

As doomed said, look at the terminations. Tri-rated is great but….. Without ferules, lugs or cage conections it’s a menace.
If you look in the industrial & commercial section I’ve got a similar problem terminating 95mm super flexible. But like me it’s an older problem.
