Has anyone had any experiance of the ryobi one+ powertool range, I like the idea of one battery fits all. But are the tools themselves just for the diy'er.

I have the plus one+ drill, torch, grinder and radio and find them to be very good. Have them 3 or so years and they have stuck the pace. some of the batteries do not hold thier charge now but they have been well used. I will just add the new lithium ion batteries and i am sure they will be a great job. My advice is go for the lithium ion.

I bought into Ryobi one+ when I went SE four years ago. The battery life on both nicad and liion I found poor. I had two li-ion batteries replaced under warranty. And I burned out the angle drill. I found the grinder and circular saw simply didn't have the oomph required.

I've sold off all my Ryobi gear and invested into Makita Li-ion kit. Far far superior. The angle drill is loads smaller yet much more powerful and the 18v SDS is particularly impressive. The hammer action on the BHP 451 is very good for a percussion and it has wrist snapping torque in first gear.
I've gone 240v Bosch Pro for the grinder.
Hilti and Bosch pro are also highly recommended by others.

Ryobi are good entry level, mid range tools, been working hard to shake off the diy only tag with the new li-ion range, obviously it's not going to be as good as the top end Makitas and the like but as the saying goes "get what u pay for"

iv'e got an old ryobi. the drill is pants, the batteries are rubbish and the radio will only get radio 1. total k-rap

which is what makes it great entry level stuff, it does a job and gets u earning til u save enough to buy some mildew walkies from me lmao!!

I have a Ryobi one plus cordless drill, angled drill, rotozip, torch and radio, they are great value for money in my opinion. They are getting on a bit now, and the batteries are getting tired. I have given them some proper hammer over the years, and no problems except wear and tear. I think they are way above the DIY stuff, but not in the same league as my Dewalt 18v cordless drill which goes on all day on the same battery. But you get what you pay for. My mate has had his Ryobi kit about as long as me, and he has nearly all the one plus range, he replaced his tired batteries with some new lithium ones and he swears by Ryobi. i think they are a good piece of kit. especially if you want good quality affordable gear to get you on your way. You will need 3 or 4 batteries though, as the circular saw and jigsaw can get through them at a fair old rate.

Cheers.........Howard

I attended a trade show last year , RYobi stand was a farce !!! nothing worked and nothing made sense. its wasting money. Buy makita 18v kit and just add "bodies" and a odd battery as and when
