Safe isolation ---- 3ph

HI ALL!

we are just touching on the subject of 3ph safe isolation at college, is there a print up / out for this, i have found a few but there is some deviation on them,...thought this would be the best place to ask

sorry if its been done before, I had a quick look, but did not spot it

theres an isolator that feeds the board, and coming off of it is a 3 phase socket like this

the isolator feeds a board, that has a main switch on it and the Breakers

i saw someone do it yesterday from the other room, and the cover of the board had to come off, also they had the plug apart for testing, but my turns next week,...just want to hit the ground running

think of it as 3 lots of single phase. with 1 phase you test L-N, L-E, N-E. do this for each phase ( you only need to do N-E once though), then test phase -phase, i.e. L1-L2. L1-L3. L2-L3. so that's 10 tests.

I didn't know about the bang test or the van test until I joined the forum. And when I think of the money I wasted buying a posh pair of combi-cutters, apparently the "real" way to get a nice notch in your snips is to use them for isolation. It's been very educational, I've learnt so much here...

a kiddy i know made a reallllly nice modification to his brand new shiny knipex snips after 3 days of ownership,...apparently, not listening to your mentor when he says what colour cable/cables to cut, is a very good way of getting that notch blown out of the cutting blades,.......

his boss / mentor shouted down from the loft,.....F*** me are you allrite ??

his reply (rather sheepishly im told) yer, yer im ok,......(tears beginning to roll)

his bosses reply to that,......

thank christ,....perhaps your put the phone down now and listen eh ?

the kiddy in question now paints houses, as in the outside.......guess it was too much for him!!!
