Morning gents

I've got my 2391 practical today, and stressing a bit when it comes to safe isolation.

I know we need to do a PIR. Is it acceptable to isolate the board at the 3ph isolator, test to ensure system is dead, lock off, place warning signs on DB, and carry on with testing? Or do we have to isolate each circuit as we go along?

Any useful tips about the practical would come in handy?

What about performing a zs on a lighting circuit? If EAWR do not permit live testing how do we do it?

Oh my head hurts!!

When I did it, we locked off & proved dead at the DB isolator.

Just make sure you switch off before you remove the cover otherwise instant fail.

As for Zs on lighting, when you come to do it, tell your tutor the ins & outs of the EAWR and ask him what he would like you to do. This will show him you know your onions. More than likely he will say calculation but I cant remember what I did back then.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
