Safety boots or trainers

Hi I work as a domestic electrician and was wondering what footwear is best for me. I currently have safety boots but because I only do domestic work, would safety trainers be perfectly fine too?

I think boots are better, gives support to the ankle and safer too.

personal preference.if there's no likelyhood of dropping heavy things on your feet then trainers. however, with domestic work you lift floorboards. big chance of stepping on a protruding 2" rusty nail, so steel toes and soles recommended, but make sure they are comfortable ones. most i've tried cripple my feet, so i wear trainers.

Steel Toe cap, reinforced sole, what more could you want?

If it's only domestic, you can wear whatever you want, subject to any of your own insurance's requirements.

I do actually have court shoes - bit of a heal, but safety shoes nevertheless which I use for site meetings, but if I am actually spending time on-site I have boots.

i had a similar pair. they would not let me on site for fear of offending the poofdahs.

depends on the job, if there's potential for me to get damaged then i'll have them on. otherwise i prefer something more comfortable.

many years ago one guy came hobbling into work on the Monday, foot all bandaged up.

He was mowing his lawn with a flymo over the weekend whilst wearing flipflops!

Apparently walking without the first few toes on a foot takes some getting used to!

My cousin slipped on a slope cutting the grass, his foot went under the Flymo and cut the end of his big toe off from the knuckle, not a clean cut more of of an excruciating shatter.

Yup, it was a slope as well, I was going to cross check the name, but Mike was not wearing trainers, flipflops, so far far worse.

My cousin liked a drink, when his mates said he was pi$$ed , he answered " I can't balance properly because of my toe" . The all believed him except his wife.
