The other day, we were smashing down part of a ceiling to help with wiring (going to be overboarded etc) the only safety glasses ive got are these silly Scruffs ones that came free with a pair of boots ages ago and they're tinted . Anyway.. when ur smashing down stuff/chopping/chasing etc.. i dont think glasses are the best protection because debris can still fall behind the lens and dust can get in your eyes. What about GOGGLES, they actually seal round your eyes dont they so nothing can possibly get into your eyes.
Anyone seen any safety goggles? proper tradesmen ones? i googled it and those laboratory goggles come up, what about like skiing goggles or somethin similar?

Anyone seen a tradesmen where proper goggles that seal round ur eyes when chopping n chasing etc but dont look really stupid? lol

If you want to look cool..... nah you can't look cool with goggles on.

I have the glasses type and the goggles type, I wear the goggles (lab types) for dirty work and to be honest tend to wear the glasses type for the rest of the time, whether I'm hammering or just having a brew. I wouldn't worry about looking good with ski goggles or whatever - if you're chasing with a grinder or having a lot of debris fall on you they will scratched to buggery in 2 minutes flat. Just wear the lab ones and look like a *** - who cares if people take the mic. When I'm not being called rocker on site jobs I'm being called darth vader from my goggles and aspirator for chasing etc. I don't care, I'm the only one not hacking my lungs up in the car park every morning....

You can also put 2 bits of black PVC tape on the goggles for comedic eyebrows....

reminds me of old saying in shipyards

You can eat with false teeth but cant see from a glass eye!

It was everywher on safety posters and is very true!!!!!

I'll agree it seems we are discussing literally everything in our bags! Next it will be 'what kind of biro is best for doing certificates? Bics write well smooth but you can get two billion unbranded for a quid in the pound shop'
'oh you don't buy those cheap ones do you, you would save money in the long run splashing out on a parker or schaeffer'
'yea but I lost my biros all the time a parker would be useless for me'
'can anything be said for the good old fountain pen?'
'Yea whatever granddad. Get with the times'
'I remember when writing certificates had an art to it, sucking up the ink, using gothic blackletter or copperplate. Sure it's quicker but you won't learn anything with these throwaway biros'

I think I may be actually losing my mind.

See, Pennywise here is an innovator. Wago afficionado, first to use sharpies....

Oh no I don't mean innovator, I mean bloody show-off.

i use pentel pen twin tip markers, the thin end is great for writing on the cu, and the thicker end is perfect for labelling cables. lol. (but seriously they are good)

What are Ray Ban Googles when they are at home?

Same as Gucci Yahoos?

Specsavers Ask Jeeveses?
