sb2500 with 10 x lattitude 245 watt panels, will that be any good? mate wants to know, i dont do system design!

Sorry, but you need to put more information than that.
Try something like, my roof is 10m x 3.5m, 35 degree pitch, south facing,
I have been advised to have 10 x Sanyo 245,s mounted landscape with an SMA SB2500 inverter would appreciate some advice.

There are many people on here that would help you, or get someone professional to survey the property and design and cost a system for you,
There is more to system design than "will it fit".

yes it will work on sunny design! but u would be better with a slightly smaller inverta! never good to underwork the inverta! to get the best u (slightly overwork it) but as invertas in short supply get what u can!

i thought that was the case, is it true the inverter should be rated about 80% of array output?

80's a little on the low side particularly if your further south 85% works well for us but check it with Sunny Design its not difficult to use and free to download from SMA
