Not done Schuco, but got one coming up using Renusol "intersole" system, this comes with plastic plates that hook onto the roofing latts, no membrane par say.

We did the Schuco and the membrane was left to the roofer - just a normal roofing membrane. Under the panels, part of the Schuco kit, there are aluminium sheets which lap over each other to form the waterproofing.

If you call Schuco they are really supportive on your first in-roof install..

oh, and beware, if you're buying it from Se*en the Designer on their portal specifies you alot of stuff you don't need!

Just thinking through some of the top-tips I wished I'd known before we did ours..

1. Get the rails perfect as you screw them in - you have no adjustment anywhere to bring the panels up nice and neat
2. We used Romag panels in landscape and the cables were too short to reach each other without lifting the previous panel - it was a real pain - have been meaning to write to Romag ever since.
3. For the area where the batons go we got as wide a baton as possible (with the correct depth, for us it was a slate roof so the battens were 5mm shallower than the rest of the roof's). The extra width made it easier to find them when screwing in from the top - that was a bit of life-saver.
4. We had to put in a good few noggins between the rafters where the rails needed to go
5. We were told to use stainless steel screws for fixing the aluminium waterproofing sheets
6. We needed a rivet gun to make the flashing and covers look as neat as we wanted them..

I'll stop, I'm making it sound worse than it is. It's become one of our show-homes now so was well worth the effort!
