I have a customer that we might just squeeze an install in for on Friday but their supplier is Scottish power and we've never dealt with them before. Can we email them the application form.

I know one person who used Scottish power, they were happy to email the FIT application form to the customer but the email said to return it to an address. This was earlier in teh year so it might be worth your customer phoning them to find out if they WILL accept email applications

The Scottish power "Clean Energy Team" number is 0845 270 1414, email [email protected]

I can probably get hold of a copy of the application form if you need one.

Edit:In theory you can use any FIT supplier so it might be worth looking at others I know "Scottish & Southern Electric" accept email applications but I'm not certain if their FIT application form is downloadable. Having said that I doubt if your customer would want to risk using another.

2 clients with Scottish power just installed, scottish power said they wanted them 3 working days before the cut off. Both sent one today one yesterday recorded, they will sign for them and once signed they are deemed accepted I understand.
EDF much simpler, open to 8 and on Saturday take them in personally and they will check them there and then.

Has anyone one heard this told to my client? Quote

"Just for your info, took the form into edf today. The only problem bit on the form was that the generation meter make and model was not the info they required , apparently everyone gets this bit wrong, you think they would make the forms clearer in that case! What they were actually after was the bit underneath Landis + Gyr etc, which gives the type and other details, eg type 5235B, 5-100A 50Hz, IPH 2W 230V. No big deal, as they were happy for me to e-mail it into them, but you might want to make sure your other customers get that bit right.

They did say if they get an application through by post and it is not correct, then they have to send it back by post, so its better to come in in person.....again just thinking of your other customers.
They also said there is a delay in processing all the stuff and getting terms out. That doesn't affect the record day for the higher FIT, but what it does affect is when you get paid. Not that it really matters in the winter anyway. Guy said that they had a back-long of 5,000 application and they were currently on with August applications, so it might not be till next March or whatever till they get round to mine!"

When you call Scottish Power you first get to listen to a recorded announcement before being invited to hold for a member of staff. A few days ago the announcement said that if your FIT application contained an email address they would notify you within one working day of its receipt. Now they have removed that and state they won't confirm receipt. If you wait on hold (only about 10 minutes so not too bad) they tell you they aim to notify you by email within 3 working days. And the woman commented that they still had not yet logged all of yesterday's arrivals.

FIT application posted via Special Delivery on Monday 5 Dec and showing as signed for on Wed 7 Dec. Email acknowledgement received today 14 Dec.
