The current prices vary between:- $1.1(£0.89)/lb insulated copper wire to $3.83(£2.89)/lb bright copper on the metal exchanges. Expect to get approximately 50% of these prices at your local scrap merchant.

Got £1.35 a kg yesterday for unstripped household cable.

i always strip the outer sheath off T/E before scrapping. if nothing else to do, then i'll take the insulation off as well.

my boss is gonna get one of those cable stripping wheels we saw up at the elex show for £150......you can either wind it by hand or use a drill setup.....after seeing what it was and the price i think i will knock one up out of a bit of bar and stuff i have lyin around.....have a sesh with the stick plant sometime....
