blonde tester???

my dead continuity tests were taken between the grub screws that hold the fecking tails in lol.... and again at the 100A DP !!

my IR checks were circuit side of CU...! dont fancy frying the Meter!! lol.... i worked backwards and ended up at supply side!! oh well not that im bothered! stupid dilog volt/continuty thing!! lol

Ohhhh were you using the combivolt for it? Cos mine does that sometimes as well, I have no idea why but as soon as I put the meter on it the readings come back fine.

Did you have the main DP and MCBs open when you did the test from the tails? Cos if they were closed, well you'd probably get some contunuity from NE from that point, and if you got that coninuity then whats to stop you getting continuity from the line in, through the CU, into a lighting circuit, into a lightbulb, down the LN, back to PME or sub, back up earth and into L2. Maybe.

DP was OPEN!!!

thats why i was confused.... stupid tester IMO!!!

yeah NE i was happy with as it is PME but L N L E ???? cccccrrrraaaazzzzzyyyy!!!

multifunction told me to sod off so i belive that one!

Ha ha weird. Possible the combivolt was picking up a weak 50hz frequency and buzzing, looking like continuity, that's what I'd put it down to. If the main, calibrated meter said it was OK, I'd believe the main, calibrated tester.
