Hi all,

I need to run a supply to a summer house, there's no room in fuse board for another circuit. I was going to split the main tails with 100A DP service connection box and put in small 1 way C/U, run the cable in swa then add another 2 way C/U at summer house. Is this the best way or is there a better one.

Cheers,
essexman.

1st - has the existing CU got RCD installed? - if no change this to a 12way CU.
2nd - How are you planning on running your supply to the summerhouse - this will determine the way you want to do it - if your using SWA - is it berried in ground or not? Will it be protected against damage?

Also are you a sparky so we can answer you accordingly

Sounds quite acceptable.

Im nearly there as a electrician. The ( customer ) doesn't want a new consumer unit yet, the swa will be clipped direct to wooden fencing, I was intending on using RCD protected C/U at both ends. As for the size of the current fuse board Its a 6 way, non RCD protected.

Thanks.

....Be careful here, discrimination etc.

What type of incoming supply is it? TN - TT?

All bonding in place?

This is notifiable works to building control !!!
