Looked at a board today that gave me a concern MCB totally burn out board was installed about 18 months ago not by myself but another spark , i just got to see what was left of the MCB the board caught fire as the guy was shutting his garage door , the connection points on the MCB looked ok a tad chared but the body of the MCB was totally burnt out and had welded itself to the RCD , before you say the recall of electrium products ive checked the numbers with the ones recalled and these were not on the recall list as far as i can see last 3 numbers were TRA any one seen this on a recall notice , pics to follow hopefully hope this isnt another recall pending

I quoted for a rewire on a house a year ago that was gutted by fire .... from the DB. They'd just had someone in who'd fitted a shower to it ...... It was completely gone, as was the service head, and a couple of metres of the supply cable. In fact the fire brigade (I love calling them that!) dug a huge crater in the garage and ... there was no supply to the house. Was bizzare. Laughed when saw it with the builder about the temporary supply!

That was my first thought but the terminals have very little damage but the rest of the MCB is destroyed ,normally the terminals are all melted with a loose connection

The only time I saw an MCB burned and it wasn't terminations, it had lots of cement dust and brick debris inside it where someone had been drilling or chiseling above the CU and it had got into the breakers below.
