Good afternoon gentlemen, i am looking to buy some outside security lighting, and i dont know if i should be looking at led's, or halogen, i want to light up an area about 20ftsq, but i also want the neighbor's to know that i am aware, and light up their gardens too. I buy stuff from ebay and i realise that some of you are going to slag the chinese off for knocking out crap, but i have taken a chance and bought some good thing's from the oriental's in the past. All comment's,& opinion's will be welcome. Thank you. Mick.

bit of a lottery with chinese stuff. some's good, some's absolute crap. try LEDHut for offers on LED floods. tou'll need at least a 30 or 40watt LED fitting to get close to a halogen in terms of lux.

Thank's for the rapid response mate, please explain the equation between halogen watt's and led's, i understand 500w halogen is bright enough for what i need ?, what would be the equievelant in led's be. Thank's again. Mick.

Deffo go LED - why do you want it so well lit?
Thank's for replying mate. I dont know what i need, i am moving to a new house with thieving gypsies around, and i have a motorbike that i dont intending any arshole stealing off me, i got the security that would trouble the most determined thief, BUT, for the first couple of week's, until i build the garage, i need some light's that will wake everybody up. Help me sleep mate !

i am about to move to an area infiltrated with gypsie's, and when, not IF, the thieving *******#s decide to rob me, i would like to let them know that i did'nt come here to dance !

roughly 30 watts LED is equivalent to 300watts halogen.. a factor of 10. alternative deterrent..
