Job to replace 4 centre lights with GU10 downlights ( 6 apiece). al going well until undid ceiling roses, found a rare animal, twin red + 1 black cable. never seen before. investigation at ceiling light positions and at switches found this rare beast to be 1.5 T/E with the cpc sleeved in red and used as switched live to feed wall lightsvia the ceiling rose.. would have been a doddle to pull new cable in studded walls, but no, some idiot had done this and was probably proud of it, saving about ÂŁ6 worth of cable. I ended up rewiring the lighting circuit.God give me strength!!!
