Has any one else had Segen on the phone last week , sounding very desperate for a order ?
Had our account manager on the phone as she had noticed that we had ordered a good hundred plus KW worth of inverters ( November ) but no modules or fixings to go with them .
When i told her that we had found another module supplier that had given us seven and a half times more credit for a extra 30 days more than Segen and were cheaper to boot , she insisted that if we were ever to order any solar again and we gave them the chance to quote they would have a good look at our terms to see what could be done !

I think that as installers the chances of being heard by the wholesalers have just gone in our favour for the future !
It was obviously going to be the case but I am surprised just how much they seem to be listening .:hammer::deal:

I have to say I placed an order last week and they called asking if they could send it out early.

I understand Segens need to lower credit limits after all we all massive increases in trade over those weeks. Segens cash flow will be no different to our own. I know what our bank account looked like during the November/December period. During the mad rush Segen was one suppler who did not disappoint me. I got most of what I ordered in the time scale required. OK our credit limit was lowered but we worked that as well.

Yes I agree the balance of power has moved to the purchaser and negotiations are open.

I have to admit , there are no complaints about segen from me on their supply side , they always got there in the end !
Would be nice to be able to order by phone though when you are on site and realise you are missing half the kit , it seemed to depend on who you got on the other end as to whether they would let you do it or not , i found ?
And stop swapping your bloody account / order manager every sodding week !!!!!!:censored:

My only gripe with Segen is their ordering of Fronius extended warranties. I'm still waiting for approx 10 from the Summer, we'd just got everything sorted when the announcment about the changes came - and that was that!

Today's job is to chase them yet again, I owe them a few quid for an inverter in December so I'm hanging onto that until they have delivered.

Other than that, during the crisis they were the most imformative and as long as you could be patient, did manage to sort things out when others wouldn't even answer the phone/email. They are certainly one of my preferred wholesalers - I order warranties from other suppliers now though :)

They made half a number of significant errors on deliveries for me in the run up to 12 Dec, forcing me to take delivery of kit early on the threat of it being de-allocated and then not sending it out when they said, so wasting a lot of my time. If my time was not better spent earning money I would be tempted to bang in a small claims court claim for the time wasted. It got to the stage where I felt I knew more about operating their computer system than the girl pulled from other duties looking after my orders.

But as I am a small organisation I like their system of having access to ordering etc online.

They did deal with some invoicing errors and a return promptly once they turned their mind to it after Christmas, but the return had been pending from August and I should have charged them for storing it. But life is too short.

I had a couple of systems delivered and installed last week and notice they have upped my discount a couple of percent as a result which is welcome although I had not asked for it. Just need some more orders now....

Regards
Bruce

Not heard from Segen, they narked me off with the lowered cred limits.

Power Ones are 150 -ÂŁ200 cheaper than CCL, so we buy from Segen.
