Hey guy's just need to pick someone's brain. I'm wiring a house full of studio flats. Each flat has it's own consumer unit consisting of 1 lighting circuit and one ring main. According to NICEIC can these both be fed of the same main RCD? Or would one have to be fed via a main switch and RCBO?
 
I'd be using BS 7671 for my source of guidance and not the NICEIC.

IMHO if you put both circuits on one RCD you won't comply with a specific reg (sorry can't remember it). RCBO's is the only way forward.
 
For the sake of an extra 30 odd quid i would be putting RCBOs in. That way if an appliance trips the sockets out the end user can still see to reach the CU rather then tripping over everything and injuring themselves whilst fumbling around in the dark.
