Was just wondering if anyone had ever done it, spoke to the guvnor on the firm and hes put me up for it. Was wondering what the course is like?

The course title could be better, taken from their website:

[h=3]Course Description[/h]This practical one-day workshop is recommended to all electrical practitioners involved in electrical installation work and provides guidance on meeting the requirements for inspection and testing in BS 7671:2008 (2011). Note: The course is relevant to new installations and work comprising additions and alterations only i.e. it does not cover periodic inspection and testing of existing electrical installations. Successful completion of the course is accepted by the SJIB for grade card renewal and re-grading purposes.

Sounds like an initial verification course rather than the 2391. The bold bit explains it. Should cover both dead and live tests to be carried out on new and altered circuits.

And even Select do not regard it to gain membership of their scheme, for them you need to be able to trace your ancestors back to the Lord of the Isles or where you worked when you left school and everything you did since. . and the key word there is renewal
