Was in CEF yesterday( hear screams of NO WAY from forum memebers!:6:) Yes indeed, my branch are fairly good compared with what they used to be like, but I digress.

As I was saying, I was in there and they had a promotional video playing demonstrating ALFA/LLFA Tape .

Thought it looked fairly good and was impressed by the demonstration on the leaking pipe at 15bar.

Here is the video ALFA/LLFA Tape Video Demonstrations.

Couldn't see any other mention of said tape on here and if it has already been talked about then I apologise most humbly.

looks very good. i would definately use it. im weary of replacing resin joints though, as ive never had one fail. im also wondering about the structural integrity of the joint. I suppose though, that it only has to be as strong as the sheath of the cable anyway.

I have seen some demos at the elex shows of the tape that you can get for the water pipes not sure if its the same tape but it looked pretty impressive. supposed to be good for twenty years plus acording to the sales guy

I've got a roll of the stuff, had it on the van for some time now. It is a good product but it's not quite so easy to use in real world scenarios. The stuff has to remain completely clean otherwise it won't bond. This is great if you've got a cable or piece of pipe in two clamps with 2-3ft of room all the way round it but in reality how often does that happen. Usually leaking pipes are no more then 10mm off the wall so getting it round the back is a nightmare and 9 times out of 10 it usually picks up dirt from the wall or sticks to itself in places you don't want it to. It does have it's uses though and i can't be completely negative about it but be aware it's not as simple to use as the product video shows.
