Hi, uncle has build an outside garage, got sub main there for new fuse board.

My question is;

He has a lampost in the back yard (lantern thing), the armoured cable is in the garage ready to be wired but he wants it to come on from a sensor mounted on the garage.

Is this correct, take the armoured to a metal clad switch, then a 3 core from the switch to the outside mounted sensor?

What would I have to do?

Cheers guys

Yes.....supply from CU to metalclad SFS, a 3 core cable upto the PIR & also the SWA to the lampost.

Make the connections in the back of the SFS, jobs a good un. You could also install another 1w switch as an failsafe to switch off and on manually should the PIR fail.

So all 3 cables going into the SFS? What do I do with the 3core then because theres only supply and a load? Both live and switch live in load side with the L+N from armoured, and the neutrals in choc?
