Morning people. I am after some advice and will openly admit i am outside my comfort zone. Story is a local fire alarm company have installed the above named panel and all works fine but are now refusing to answer the phone or emails for no apparrent reason. A dropped ceiling has now been installed in a room containing an emergency light and a smoke detector and these need to be brought through the new ceiling but i do not know how to power down the panel to make it safe to do so. Can any one shed some light? Or if you are near Farnborough Hampshire and fancy giving a quick price to do it that would be cool. All is surface run in conduit so not a hard job

Surely just turn off power and disconnect battery, if not do it live and wait last minute to do joints where existing point is if you have to leave system functioning, panel would give up a fault but easily silenced

Thanks Tazz, i have responded. I do not wish to do it live nor do i wish to open the panel without any experience in reinstating the protocols. I would rather be shown or told how or leave it to more experienced hands

do it live. undo cables 1 at a time, noting where they go, and insulate ends. ( it's only 24V so it won't bite ). then fix and wire up detector in new location, make joint in suitable enclosure at original position, remembering to preserve the circuit as a radial ( no spurs allowed ).

I have asked Tazz if he can assist, if he cannot then i will have to do it myself. Fortunately though Tel both the light and sensor are end of line so no danger of sourring. Thanks for the advice though, i was not aware they only operate at 24v

Just to put closure on the thread, Tazz showed up today and and did an excellent job and even took the time to maintain the integrity of the containment. To follow up he also went through the alarm procedure with the clients, something the original firm had not done. He has also advised on all things wrong with the newly installed system. So all in all very impressed with him and would like to publicly thank him for all his efforts
