I just recieved yet another phone call from a previous customer who has a seperate cooker hob and every 6 months or i have to replace hob due to this tripping one 30ma rcd from a split 17th edition board. I cant put it on a non rcd protected way due to a socket outlet in the cooker switch. My problem is that problem seems to be with one ring in particular every time that the ring corrodes over time very badly with the enamel lifting of the ring which would indicate a possible over heating situation but these are new hobs every time. I must add but they are cheap hobs around ยฃ50 or so supplied by the customer.
My only suggestion is that i provided a good named brand hob and try a glass top hob this time to try and prevent this as its annoying having to return now for what will be the 3rd visit in 1 and half years
Insulation is only bad once hob heats so indicates element failure.
Any other suggestions for solutions please
