As the election is only 9/10 months away, I wondered if anyone here really did like a particular party and would like to write a small bit regarding it so we can then get a private poll up to see if we can work out what the members here will be voting, it might give an indication to next years election result, the parties as listed below, we won't include tiny minor parties at this point.

Conservative
Labour
UKIP
Liberal Democrats
SNP
Green party

Anyone fancy doing a write up? if so when it is all done I will ask the team to move the actual write ups away from the silly posts which we will obviously post in this thread and start a new poll up, could be a laugh lol

You may well be right, I cannot see an out and out winner at this moment

I'm a fan of the coelition - to be able to have the "squabbles" out in the open is good for democracy.

I'd rather have this than the "one big party" squabbles, leaks and counter leaks from the "old" two parties.

It may well be UKIP is part of the next coalition if it happens.

I can't see that, they may get 1 or 2 MP's but I doubt it'll be more.

One thing for sure is that all the main parties will loose out, there will be MANY surprise outcomes of the election and embarassing losses all round.

I will be staying up to watch it unfold.......

I doubt UKIP will get any more than 5 seats, this will not give them enough clout in parliament to allow them to have much of a say in anything. Nigel Farage is incredibly unlikely to ever become a kingmaker.

God I hope you are right Trev, however I have a terrible feeling he will get 20-25 seats and become the third largest party, the Libdems will self destruct next year with 15 tops IMO.

I can't see that happening. Sure they got a lot at the EU elections but that was a lot of protest voting aimed at the clowns in Brussells - 2015 could herald a larger than normal turnout...

Remember Tony Blair won a landslide in 2005, when turn out was about 62%, he got 35% of the votes and won 355 seats whereas the Tories got 32% of the vote and a "mere" 198 seats

So 35% of the vote, yes only 35% of the vote and he got a massive majority.

I doubt even the best bookies & polesters haven't a clue....
