I have shamelessly nicked this from a closed forum elsewhere on the net as it seems perfectly in tune with my feelings about the way this industry is going.
I know my stance aggravates a lot of you but I also know you know that I don't give a **** about that. I do care that people who are smart enough to know better won't do better for themselves, for us.
I wonder how many of you stand in the security queue at the airport fuming as I do knowing full well that you are being treated unfairly so as to treat the real problem fairly. But of course that too is for our own good. Who could argue with that.
I have edited out the names.
He's a man after my own heart. An honest bloke trying to earn a living being watched and lorded over by a bunch of big headed ***** riding the gravy train that is thankfully on it's way to the last station.

OK *** lets clear something up,
I don’t represent you, or anyone else for that matter, what I and blokes like me are endeavouring to achieve is improvements for the sole trade.
Is that clear enough for you?
I can’t achieve it single handed.
Sitting in the Euskills Offices the other day it was obvious the suits didn’t want things to come out of the Competence Review that would reduce the vast amount of money they get out of this industry.
Money paid in by blokes like your self, some of whom may wish to do something about it, apparently you don’t wish to do anything about it.
People were there from the Assessment Centres, there were that many I was looking out of the Office window to see if they had hired a double decker bus to get there.
One bloke in particular was of the opinion that significant amount of Registrants were not up to the job, and were struggling to get a pass.
It was up to blokes like me to point out that remarks like that illustrated the fact that some Assesment Centres were simply taking the money but not doing the job they are paid for.
The number of sole traders could be counted on one hand.
The suits, and some nicely cut suits at that, were many.
Simply by increasing the numbers of RGI’s at the GILG and other meetings can get a result, it wont be easy but it is do-able, maybe your to old to stand up to those who annually dip their hand into your wallet, but I for one am not.
