Sharing the Electricity Genereated

We have a customer who owns a couple of flats and wants a 4kW system installed. Each flat has its own consumer unit and meter which are very close together. He has asked if its possible to share the electricity generated by the PV system between the flats. Is this possible and if so how would we do it?

Are they landlord sub-meters or direct grid ones. If the former then yes, you could share from the main landlord supply. Just connect inverter output downstream of the landlord meter.

If not sub-metered then no, you wouldn't be able to from one system - but you could if you installed as 2 x 2kW systems with 2 inverters.

There are also rules governing how much a landlord can charge for electric - but renewables are exempt from this. So either solution may complicate that.
