this may sound like a daft question but its honestly the first time ive ever put one in, do the need a separate feed from the board or can it be taken from the lighting circuit of the ring with a spur

Most i have seen and done have been from a light circuit

Normally off the lighting circuit but could be from ring via fcu

surely on if you have tested the transforma which i would'nt for a brand new unit
