guys,

just a quick question, installing a small cu in a shed which has rcd protection as main switch this will be connected to the main board in the house however this is also rcd protected is this aloud as wouldnt they be inline with each other.if there was a fault in the shed would it take out both rcds or just the one in the shed.

Hi Peter you only need one rcd just do away with the one in the shed and fit a main switch, and rather than have it take out all the circuits on the rcd in the house put it on an rcbo;)
 
Or......run the shed supply off an MCB on the non-RCD side of your house CU, and leave the RCD main switch in the shed:)
