I have got a outhouse (SHED) its got 5 double sockets 3 12v spot lighs and a outside light plus a 2kw heater (Will replace with 500w heater) there was 2.5mm supplying the shed now I have taken it out I was going to use Newlec NL6943XLH Cable, Black, 25m, Copper 4mm², Three Core with a Crabtree RCBO Type C, 40A, Single Module.

Would this be okay to use or would the 2.5mm be okay?

is the cable you plan to use to be burried?...is it armoured?....whats the earthing arrangements here?....whats the bonding like?.....any additional protection (RCD/S)?

The shed has 5 double socktes theres a 32" LCD TV and PC, games console 2kw heater (may get a 500watt heater) and 2.1 surround sound set plugged in there may also be a small pond pump. There are 3 12v spot lights also and a normal energy save outside light the cable is 4mm SWA cable it may not be burried there is a consumer unit in the shed with a 32a mcb and a 6a mcb

I done level 1 2 and 3 at college + my granddad is a qualified electrician but he lives to far away so ill do it then he can come check it

Ok stefan just do basic cable calcs. What's going to be the flc of the shed? What's the distance of the cable run for volt drop? What earthing arrangement is it? Etc etc.

I'm going to have to ask!! ...Why are you having this shed on a TT system??

Oh, and how about giving some answers to questions that has been asked on your cable, like is it being direct buried etc???

Do you think it might just be remotely possible that someones told him you cant export the earth?.........

That's standard SWA cable nothing special... lol!! Glad to hear your not TT'ing this shed now, especially as you have a TN-S earthing system. Just bury the cable deep enough not to be subject to future damage, or better still duct it...
