The shed in question is mostly wooden but has one side that is metal profile & the roof also. There's a 6mm swa supplying it. Is it acceptable to just take a 6mm earth from the shed CU & bond the metal parts? Somehow I've got it in my head that someone said you can't do this to me before? That you must not use the earth in the house on another building? The distance between the house & shed is about 3 metres, the distance between shed cu & house cu is about 12 metres.

The shed one profile may or may not be an extraneous conductive part you can test that quite easily if you intend to extend your equipotential zone from the house. With a wander lead connect to the house MET and the profile and do an IR test, it it exceeds 22Kohm then there is no need to bond it.

If you do need to bond this then you maybe able to get away with the 6mm/SWA armoured combined to make your CPC/Bonding conductor. a lot may depend on your earthing system

Shall do the IR tomorrow and see. The metal is so old & corroded it's hardly able to get continuity between two points on each metal sheet. There's about 5/6 different small sheets as well. Hopefully won't have to bond as I'd have to probably link between each sheet.
