Hi Folks.
I went to look at a possible rewire job last week and came across this (see attached pics). The house was built in 1962 and has all the original wiring. It was/is a Wimpy build, 10 miles north of Bristol.
The main incomer looks to me like 10mm SWA rising out of the concrete floor. The main fuse carrier is marked as 60A rated (however a sticker on the side states 63A), which does correspond with 10mm SWA current carrying capacity. Earthing is via PME.
The tails also look like 10mm (singles of course).
I've come across 63A main fuses before, but never seen the mains come in through 10mm. Is this now acceptable and should I request upsizing by Western Power? Or be happy that with diversity the full load may be handled comfortably by the mains equipment.
Thanks Peeps.
