Hello all, ive recently gone to look at a job wanting a new circuit for a shower the run is in total 25m its a 9kw shower which has been supplied. The existing fuseboard is rewireable so was going to fit an enclosure with 40A rcd new tails to henley block. What price roughley would you be looking at for this, Its in a bungalow as well!! plus EIC

As this is under Part P you will have to notify it or are you a member of a recognised scheme, because that will come into the equation?

Are you burying the cable in the wall or running surface?. If burying are you chasing out the wall and then making good?

Are you supplying material ie cable, DP switches. Henly blocks, etc.

Is the existing bonding upto 17th Edition or are you going to have to upgrade that.

Will you satisfy all the Regs from section 701 regarding supplementry bonding in the bathroom or are you going to have to bond it.?

Quite a few probables there

ill be supplying the materials and testing it the bathroom is already bonded.the only one thing it may need is a main water bond as washing machine was in the way to confirm. the cable will be choped in but made good by someone else as its being tiled. thanks

at least a day plus materials, thi would include the test and cert
if its a bungalow it shouldnt take you long to lay it in the loft and just trunk to the C/U and trunk to the shower unless they spec otherwise , peice of cake and no floorboards
sounds like a nice little job

supplimentary bonding is no longer required in bathrooms etc, this changed when it became 17th edition. no need to cross bond pipe any more, as long as good earth to services then that is all thats needed

This is quite important and we need to give the correct advice here!

The following criteria must be met if supplementary bonding is to be omitted:

1 The disconnection times in 411 are met.

2 ALL circuits are protected by 30mA rcd.

3 The building has protective equipotential bonding to 411.3.1.2

4 All extraneous conductive parts of the location are effectively connected to the protective bonding
