H. now I was after a bit of advise iv just moved into a house and am planning of having a shower fitted after looking in the airing cupboard which is located next to the bathroom. I can see that there was a shower fitted before and there is a pipe that has been capped. now looking into it further I think they must of took a spur from the boiler electric supply and gave the shower it,s own fuse box switch.

Now I know very little about electric and even less about plumbing so could somebody tell me is this safe to run a spur from the boiler to a separate box with a fuse.

Regards
Mark

YES!! :D get them walls bashed!!

oh i suggest 10mm cable and then you can have super duper shower installed!!! plus it future proofs it!!

im all up for future proofing!! providing the customer pays for it!! :)

My ex had a shower fitted I noticed that they took the power from a plug socket in one of the bedrooms up to a box with a fuse fitted I guess thats cutting corners thanks for the advise.
having a think about it I think the main electric breaker is quite close to the bathroom now if I get the 10mm cable and get it to the main electic box and to the airing cupboard that should save time for the plummer

cant imagine a shower lasting long on 13a supply!! unless the 13a supply is coated in tinfoil!!

ensure the plumber is not just a part p whizz kid and actually knows what he is doing!! had some unfortunate run ins with part p qualified other trades..!! if you can run the cable then go for it, make sure you have it in the correct zones and steer clear of central heating pipes!!!
