Hi all,
i would like to know which is the best way or ONLY way i can install a overhead shower extraction unit with a single low voltage lamp encased in. The shower is a 10.5kw unit with a 10mm feed and a 40amp RCD, the pullcord switch is double poled. The bathroom has a window for natural light and ventilation and has 4 low voltage lamps wired on the house lighting main. At the moment I am carrying out other works on the house which include having a couple of new ring mains and a new Consumer Unit (which a Qualified Electrician will be installing ) the consumer unit is 30+m from the bathroom. I would like the extractor/light to be active when only the shower is being used and independent of the bathroom lights as dont need the main lights to be on during daylight. Can I wire it up to the pullcord switch of the shower isolation (knowing its a 40amp RCD and possible putting in an inline fuse) so the extraction/light come on with the shower or do I have to put a separate circuit and switch in .
All help/advice gratefully received
Thanks, Rich
