Hi good people can anyone give advice on this i have a shower pump to install in airing cupboard next to the water tank the emersion water heater has a 4mm tw-e cable 16A supply that is moor than enough for 13A anyone see any think rong with this change the 16 to a 20 and supply the pump from this circuit advice please

Why not ?....as long as the total load does not exceed the rating of the cable/mcb and the required volt drop is not exceeded. If you go to a 20a mcb both the immersion and the pump would need to be fed through switched fused spurs.

I cant see why not two fused oulets on a 4mm radial circuit 13A for the water heater and 6A for the shower pump has anyone got ideas on this a few years ago it was said that imesion water heaters should be fed from a 4mm instead of 2.5mm why not use that cable

Agree, I remember my pump which is fairly hefty, recommended it be connected on a lighting circuit. Rated current was 6A, but it only actually draws 1.7A on full chat.

Easiest thing to do is make sure both the immersion and the pump are on switch spurs and fused correctly. Doubt very much if you are going to overload anything unless there is anything you are not telling us. Chances are the immersion is a backup.

Yes sorry, I should have said that. It was less than 6A, if I remember right it was 3.2A max load and 1.7A constant running. Do remember it saying, fuse down to 5A This is the model below mine, cant find detail spec on it. Grundfoss was the make.

Performance: Extremely Quiet
Closed head pressure: 80ft head (2.42 bar)
Max amps/watts: 2.4 amps/580 watts
Rating: TEFC continuous
Pump Dimensions: 255 x 210 x 160mm

Thats great lads thanks for the advice i had done this in the parst many years ago the batroom fitter said he dident think you wer aloud to do this i cant see why not it a radial at the end of the day
