can anyone give me any information on changing heater tank and thermo cut out on mira shower, does the water need to be isolated

You can try and do it without isolating the water but I think you will find it will get a bit wet.

as above , mira advance etc are better just swapped than repaired
If it was installed "properly" in the first place, the installer "should" have incorporated an isolator somewhere in the pipe so it can be isolated without the need to turn the water off to the rest of the house. Same applies to sink taps, basin taps & bath taps etc.
obviously, thast would mean that it;s been jnstalled by a spaqrks, not a plumber.
Since when did plumbers do things properly? When mine installed my electric shower 10 years ago (long before I knew anything about electrics) it turns out he couldn't be bothered to tighten the screw onto the CPC in it, nor did he bother to put an RCD in the consumer unit it was fed from! Oh, and I have to turn the water off from the cover in the road.:mickey:
