My Siemens, under-the-work-top cooker, keeps tripping the electrics once it has been heated up for cooking and then turned off after use. Its driving me mad. any one know why this is happening? Kim

There may be an insulation resistance problem, most likely with the oven itself. Try isolating with the wall switch,if it no longer trips that would confirm the oven is the likely culprit. That said RCD's can be misleading,a test by a competant electrician is advisable....if you post your location someone on here may help.

My guess is an earth to N fault in the damaged light fitting. This will become a problem when other devices draw large currents.
