Siemens cooker tripping

My Siemens, under-the-work-top cooker, keeps tripping the electrics once it has been heated up for cooking and then turned off after use. Its driving me mad. any one know why this is happening? Kim

After turning it off?...Turning off on the oven control or the wall isolator?...is it tripping the RCD or MCB?....
More info needed before we can help you.

Hi I turn it off at the cooker itself but then the RCD trips in the meter box

it also only happens when the oven has been used and is hot. if I turn the oven and then off when it is stone cold it doesnt trip?

There may be an insulation resistance problem,most likely with the oven itself. Try isolating with the wall switch,if it no longer trips that would confirm the oven is the likely culprit. That said RCD's can be misleading,a test by a competant electrician is advisable....if you post your location someone on here may help.
